to merely inconvenience you.
They cut you down
to soften you,
they help you
understand that peace
+ comfort was never in
your ego,
but in your humility.
How much knowledge you
possess doesn't hold peace
to the pieces that aren't
making sense right now.
The many awards you've won
won't give you comfort.
Other people's validation
won't soothe the hurt,
the high-status car
you drive won't
clear the confusion,
how much you can lift
at the gym won't
rain down peace,
but an open,
soft
heart
will.
When everything is
bring you to
the ground,
fall down with it.
Thank it for bringing
you to your
knees.
It is THERE
you will find
that humility
will ultimately
connect you
to the b o u n d l e s s
love,
healing,
+
FREEDOM
you crave.
Give into the process,
curl up with a pillow,
the sh*t storm
showering you
with reminders
that you are safely
being guided back
to your true
